The first artist edition of this exclusive deck was created in 2020 in a limited print run of 500 copies, each numbered and signed by the artist. The deck includes 36 traditional Lenormand cards, two additional cards (Boy and Girl), and an introductory card with edition details and the artist’s signature. The cards, measuring 120 x 70 mm (2.75" x 4.75"), are printed on professional-grade 300 gsm card stock and housed in an elegant handmade box. The Oracle is available in English and Japanese.

A deck born from introspection and art

“The Nursemaid's 36 Tales” emerged during the 2019 lockdown, a time when the artist found inspiration in Japanese aesthetics and the fascinating world of Yōkai—mysterious supernatural beings from Japanese mythology. The Yōkai, sometimes malevolent and mischievous, other times bringers of good fortune, served as the foundation for a visual narrative that shifts between nightmare and irony, between reality and dream.

The illustrations, created using traditional acrylic painting techniques on plastic sheets, do not depict specific Japanese legends but reinterpret the spirit world with lightness and subtle humor.

A homage to Lenormand with a personal touch

The deck’s title, “The Nursemaid's 36 Tales,” evokes the idea of bedtime stories for disobedient children, blending the 36 archetypes of the Lenormand system with an original narrative flair.
